Throughout the day you will enjoy four separate wine-tasting experiences at both smaller boutique cellar doors as well as more established locations, including a barrel room tour, where you will enjoy learning information, stories, and facts about the region and wine from your charismatic guide and cellar staff.
Your Food & Wine Tasting Journey:
You will start your day being met by your wine-certified guide at or near your Queenstown accommodation. From here we will travel from Queenstown to Central Otago and its sub-wine regions, well known for top-class wineries and award-winning wines, including world-famous Pinot Noirs.
The first stop of the tour is in Bannockburn, an hour’s drive from Queenstown following the Kawarau River. In this beautiful setting you will experience an educational tour of the vines, barrel hall and of course, finish with a beautiful tasting of the wines they produce.
Located on the famous Felton Road, Te Kano is a sophisticated tasting room located in a beautiful setting with an Architecturally awarded cellar door. Taste 5 of their clean, crisp, and delicate wines from Blanc de Noir, Rosé, and Pinot Noirs.
Now it’s time for lunch, we then head to the Bannockburn Hotel, a local favourite location not only for the menu but also its extensive wine list with over 200 wines available by the glass. Here you will enjoy a trust-the-chef lunch all included in the tour.
Travelling to Cromwell, we visit Misha’s tasting room. This exceptional tasting experience gives you the opportunity to select 5 wines from their extensive list. They offer white wines, rosé and multiple Pinot Noirs. Their gewürztraminer is a local favourite wine and is uniquely different with its strong Turkish Delight and Ginger flavours.
We start the return to Queenstown, however, the day isn’t over yet! Our last stop is halfway home in the sub-region of Gibbston at Kinross. As well as producing their own wines, they also represent smaller products and will create a fantastic wine flight board, that you will enjoy with a shared cheese platter. A perfect, and relaxed way to end your day.
Note, that locations are subject to change.
