Join an immersive, fun and educational wine tour visiting five of Central Otago’s finest and off the beaten track cellar doors through the BIG four wine regions of Gibbston, Cromwell, Bendigo and Bannockburn.
Enjoy sampling over 20 spectacular cool-climate wines and enjoy an (optional) exceptional lunch at a local renowned location (additional cost ordered on the day) whilst learning information, stories and facts about the region and wine from your charismatic guide and cellar staff. Travel in style with transfers in a premium Mercedes van, and make use of our complimentary Wi-Fi, Spotify and bottled water.
Itinerary for this tour varies depending on group numbers and date, some of our locations we visit are:
Domain Rd, Te Kano, Mt Rosa, Chard Farm, Akarua, Mt Difficulty, Scotts Base, Mishas, Cloudy Bay, Wooing Tree, Carrick, Desert Heart, Quartz Reef.
We have regular cellar doors we visit however we have the flexibility to tailor the tour to suit where possible. If you have specific requests please let us know through ‘special requirements’ at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
The 8 hour Central Otago Wine Tour departs Queenstown Thursday-Sunday at 9:45am and returns around 5:30pm.

We visit both the Gibbston region and the Bannockburn/Cromwell region, typically visiting 5 locations plus a lunch stop. We change it up each tour where we visit so let us know if you have any requests!
Our lunch stop varies but is usually one of The Bannockburn Hotel, Mt Difficulty or Stoaker Room. You’ll pay directly for these meals on the day.
Absolutely! Just let us know in advance any dietary requirements and we will let the lunch stop know.
No, but we can certainly point a few sheep out along the way, possibly a goat and even a horse!
We have no age restrictions to join the tours however of course you must be 18 years of age to drink alcohol.

Yes all of our wine guides are put through an intensive wine and beer accreditation specifically built for Altitude Tours. This includes theory on the history of wine, wine in the world, wine in NZ and wine in Central Otago. They also know when to stop delivering wine information and let you sit back, enjoy the sights and day out!
We pick up from the main bus stop routes in Queenstown town centre and along Frankton Road. When booking, type in your accommodation and it will suggest the closest bus stop. If it doesn’t come up just check in with us and we’ll let you know where is closest for you!
All levels of wine knowledge are welcome! From the beginner wine tasting to the expert wine connoisseur wanting to chat wine all day, our guides and tours will suit all.
Central Otago is famous for it’s Pinot Noir, so there will certainly be plenty of that to taste! Other varieties you’ll taste are Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé and Riesling.
Minimum numbers for this tour is 3pax, and maximum is 14pax, so you’ll get a great small group experience!
Yes! All wine purchased is placed in the boot of the vehicle and passed over to you on completion of the tour so you can enjoy it after or later on your holiday.
