It’s your choice between wine or beer at each unique location on this fun tour! Better yet, this tour departs at 3:00pm, allowing you to have an adventurous morning or fly in from out of town and be back in town before your evening plans. It’s just so perfectly timed – even if we say so ourselves!
Your Altitude Tours guide meets you and your small group at our convenient central Queenstown pickup before journeying into the great Gibbston wine region.
GT Tasting
Our first stop on the tour is the GT Tasting Room, situated at the historic Gibbston Tavern. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in wine or local craft beers. The wine is locally grown and produced, and the beer hails from a just 1 km down the road. Experience unique charm of the Gibbston region at the historic tavern.
Kinross
Next, to Kinross Cellar Door. By now the fun has kicked in (or the tastings). Here, you’ll experience a hosted wine tasting with Kinross and the five boutique wine partners they represent. Sample a selection from each producer, including some of the most awarded Pinot Noirs globally. If you’re a beer enthusiast, enjoy sampling four beers from the local small batch brewery.
Canyon Brewing
As we venture back towards Queenstown, our third stop is at Canyon Brewing in Arthurs Point, where they believe good beer is best served fresh and with friends. By now, your small group will feel like great buddies, and fresh beer will be flowing from their taps. This is the perfect time to sit down, relax, and socialise with your group. Enjoy tasting flights of either Canyon’s crafted brews or local wines. Indulge in a shared grazing platter to satisfy your palate before we return to Queenstown, just in time for your dinner reservation or other evening plans.

Wine & Craft Beer Tour FAQ's
We start with a visit to the GT Tasting Room for delicious beer or wine tastings, followed by the cellar door at Kinross Winery, before finishing off at Canyon Brewery for wine or beer tastings and platters.
Highly possible. Well worth a try, we have had Southland sheep farmers who have never tried wine before fall in love with Rosé.
Light platters are included at Canyon Brewery, to help soak up some of those tastings!

We have no age restrictions to join the tours however of course you must be 18 years of age to drink alcohol.

Our pick up and drop off location is the Station Building in the centre of Queenstown.
All levels of wine/beer knowledge are welcome! From the beginner to the expert connoisseur wanting to chat wine/beer all day, our guides and tours will suit all.
Central Otago is famous for it’s Pinot Noir, so there will certainly be plenty of that to taste! Other varieties you’ll taste are Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé and Riesling. For the beer lovers, you’ll have an offering of craft beers including Pale Ales, Lagers, Pilsners and IPA’s.
Minimum numbers for this tour is 3pax, and maximum is 14pax, so you’ll get a great small group experience!
Yes! All wine/beer purchased is placed in the boot of the vehicle and passed over to you on completion of the tour so you can enjoy it after or later on your holiday.
No! This tour is totally unique to Altitude Tours and gives you the option to have an evening wine & beer tour so you can fit in all the other activities in Queenstown in during the day!
