With the vehicle exclusively for your group, the journey begins in a comfortable and relaxed way.

Travel through Southland farmland and lake country as your guide shares local stories, history, and insight along the way.

The journey is a big part of the Milford experience, with changing landscapes and plenty to see before you even reach Fiordland National Park.

Pause in Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park, for a short break and the chance to grab a morning coffee.

From here, the landscape begins to change dramatically as you leave town behind and continue towards Milford Sound.

Enter the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Fiordland National Park and travel through a landscape shaped by mountains, glaciers, rivers, and ancient native forest.

Your guide will choose scenic stops along the Milford Road based on the conditions on the day, allowing your group to experience some of Fiordland’s most memorable viewpoints along the way.

The road opens into the vast Eglinton Valley, framed by native beech forest and towering mountains.

It is one of the Milford Road’s most impressive landscapes and a chance to appreciate the scale and isolation of Fiordland.

Stop at Mirror Lakes, where calm conditions can create remarkable reflections of the surrounding mountains in the still water.

It is a short and easy stop, but one of the most recognisable views along the Milford Road.

Continue into the alpine section of the journey and through the Homer Tunnel.

Emerging on the western side of the mountains reveals the dramatic descent towards Milford Sound, surrounded by steep cliffs, waterfalls, and some of the most impressive scenery of the day.

Upon arrival in Milford Sound, board an approximately two-hour small boat nature cruise through the fiord.

Cruise beneath towering peaks and alongside waterfalls while a knowledgeable nature guide brings the landscape to life. Depending on the day, you may also encounter dolphins, fur seals, penguins, and native birdlife.

A complimentary packed picnic lunch is included for you to enjoy during the experience.

After your cruise, rejoin your private guide and vehicle for the journey back to Queenstown.
