It was Alan Brady of Gibbston Valley Wines who planted the Home Block in 1983 and made the first commercial wine from Central Otago in 1987 starting something very beautiful in the region and this premium brand has been at the forefront of innovation within the region ever since (read our story on Alan Brady)

Today, Gibbston Valley is a large but beautifully-presented commercial property featuring a massive wine cave, tasting rooms, restaurant, cheesery and gift shopping on premise. The wines are unfined, unfiltered and sustainably produced.

In 2001 Gibbston Valley Wines were awarded the Best Pinot Noir in the World accolade.

The locals affectionately know it as ‘their own’ and tourists come from far and wide to experience a day at the Gibbston Valley Winery, drinking fine, award-winning wines while sharing platters of local delicacies and freshly gown produce in a continental-styled courtyard.
