Q. What is your cancellation policy?

Bookings can be cancelled free of charge up until 48 hours prior to departure.

Q. Can I change the date of my tour?

Yes, given that you provide us with 48 hours notice we will do everything we can to reschedule the date of your tour. Please note any changes will be subject to availability.

Q. What vehicles do you use?

Our fleet consists of comfortable and modern Mercedes vans ranging from 6-19 seats. All equipped with air conditioning, reclining leather seats, and complimentary on board WiFi, we will make sure you travel in style!

Q. Are children welcome on your tours?

Kids are more than welcome on all our tours! We have child rates available for all our tours for ages 2-17 (except Milford Sound where children over 12 are counted as an adult). Infants under 2 years old travel for free.

On tours where we visit a winery, under 18s will be offered soft drinks instead of wine!

While our tours are all suitable for kids, there is a significant amount of driving time on our Milford Sound trip (+9 hours) which may not be suitable for very young children. We welcome kids on tour but believe as a parent you know what is best for your child.

We do not provide car seats for infants or young children but we do highly recommend bringing one for your child. If you do not have a car seat, please contact us 48 hours before your tour and we can arrange to hire one for you for an additional fee.

Q. Do you provide pickup from my accommodation?

We offer some hotel pick ups for our Milford Sound and Wine Sampler tours. For Best of Queenstown, Glenorchy & Paradise Explorer and Twilight Wine & Craft Beer due to timing constraints we only pick up from outside the Station Information Centre on the corner of Camp and Shotover Street.

Unfortunately we can’t offer pickups for Airbnbs or holiday homes but we will try to find the closest and most convenient pick up location to your Airbnb. 

Please note due to limited timing for pick ups, we’re not able to pick up from outside the Queenstown/Frankton area.

Q. Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

We’re able to cater for most dietary requirements on all tours that provide food – just let us know in advance and we can sort that for you!

Milford Sound Tours

Q. What to bring?

We recommend that you come prepared for almost any weather. Even in Summer, the weather can change quickly and get cold, wet, or windy! Come prepared with an extra warm layer and rain coat if you have one. We also recommend you bring sun lotion, insect repellent, and comfortable footwear. If you do not purchase the picnic lunch, you are welcome to bring your own food along with you or purchase some during our stops in Te Anau.

Q. How long is the journey? 

Please be prepared for a long day. Milford Sound is remote and only accessible by one road. This tour is between 12-13 hours and a great portion of that is spent on the road. What you can be said for certain is that this will be one of the most scenic and unforgettable journeys you will ever experience. With pristine lakes, towering mountains, and unbelievable valleys around each corner, this is a day to remember!

Q. Where do you stop on the way?

With our small group sizes, we have the unique opportunity to choose more remote locations and work around the crowds that can frequent the Milford Road during the busy months. While the exact locations can differ from day to day, you can certainly expect to stop at the more notable sites such as the Mirror Lakes and Eglington valley among others such as Monkey Creek, the Homer Tunnel and the Chasm. In each direction, you will also have the opportunity to stretch your legs and get something to eat and drink in the small township of Te Anau.

Q. Are there toilets on the vans?

Our small vehicles are not equipped with on board toilet facilities. Instead our driver will make frequent stops and make passengers aware of where the next opportunity will arise to go to the bathroom.

Q. Is there assigned seating?

We do not assign seats. Our vehicles are small enough that everyone has a great seat for taking in the view in comfort. If you are prone to travel sickness, we recommend you take any steps necessary to mitigate this – you are welcome to let us know, but we cannot guarantee a front seat will be available.

Q. Can you pick me up?

Hotel and accommodation pick up is provided from Queenstown only. For a list of pick up locations, please see the drop down menu on our booking form; if your accommodation is not listed, please let us know and we will direct you to the nearest pick up. It is important to note that we do not provide this pick up to residential addresses and Airbnbs, so you may be required to meet us elsewhere.

Q. What’s included?

All of our Milford Sound tours include the days transport with one of our knowledgeable guides, an unforgettable scenic cruise on one of the smallest vessels on Milford Sound, and loads of additional sightseeing stops. A picnic lunch can be added for a small additional price.

Q. What is the cruise like?

Operated by Mitre Peak, the scenic cruise is often the highlight of our passengers day. Taking you out along Milford Sound to the Tasman Sea, the scenery will take your breath away! With great commentary from the local skipper, and the chance to glimpse some of the unique local wildlife, you’ll quickly see why Milford Sound is renowned world over for it’s beauty and charm. 

Q. Do you provide lunch?

We can provide you with an individually packed picnic lunch for an additional charge. This is provided on board the scenic cruise so that you can eat as you enjoy the awesome scenery! To purchase the picnic lunch, simply add it onto your purchase when booking.

Q. Can you provide for dietary requirements?

We’re able to cater for most dietary requirements on all our tours – just let us know in advance and we can sort that for you! Please provide us with any relevant information when making your booking, and reconfirm your dietary requirements with us 48 hours prior to departure.

Wine & Craft Beer Tours

Q. Is identification required?

We recommend that all passengers bring identification. New Zealand law requires all establishments providing alcohol to request ID for customers who look under the age of 24, and in the absence of ID you will not be served.

Please note that the only international form of identification accepted is a passport.

Q. Is there somewhere to store our purchased wine safely in the van? 

Wine racks are installed in each of the vans so that any wine you have purchased from the cellar doors will not break on the drive home.

Q. What is the difference between a cellar door, vineyard and winery?

A cellar door is somewhere that offers wine tastings and information about the wine, a vineyard is where the grapes are grown and a winery is where the wine is made. Some cellar doors are also wineries and vineyards but this is not always the case as the wine is sometimes grown and produced at other locations.

Q. Will we be visiting any wineries or vineyards on our tour?

Yes, if you book the Wine Sampler tour then you will visit several cellar doors as well as at least one winery and vineyard.

Q. Which winery do we stop at for lunch on the Wine Sampler tour?

This can vary but its generally either Kinross, Waitiri Creek or Mt Rosa.

Q. What cellar door will we be visiting on our tour?

There are dozens of cellar doors available to us in Central Otago however the specific locations we visit each day may vary depending on group size and what the cellar door has happening at their end. Rest assured, we have chosen each cellar door we visit carefully so you won’t be disappointed.

Q. Can we request which cellar doors our tour goes to?

Unfortunately, unless you book and pay for a private tour we cannot guarantee which cellar doors we go to. However we’ve handpicked the places we go to, so you get the best experience possible.

Q. How long do we spend at each cellar door/winery?

On average you will spend about 30 minutes at each stop with about 1.5 hours at the winery where you have lunch.

Q. We want to be picked up or dropped off from a central location instead of our accomodation?

No problem at all, we can pick you up from central Queenstown, or from your accommodation. Please either request this when you book or contact us directly and your friendly driver will ensure this happens.

Q. The Twilight tour states pick up from ‘Central Queenstown’, what does this mean?

For the twilight tour we pick up from outside the Station Building on the corner of Camp and Shotover Streets, central Queenstown.

Q. We want to do a full day wine tour including lunch, what can you offer?

We are very happy to organise a private tour for you; in fact this is our speciality! Contact us for a quote including lunch options and visits to specific wineries or other places of interest. Please note that private tours have no other members of the public on board and as such the price reflects this.
