Heidi – General Manager & Altitude Founder

Heidi is a born and bred kiwi girl who hails from Hamilton in the North Island. After finishing school, she moved to Queenstown where she studied Tourism Management and has called this beautiful region home ever since. Having worked in tourism for her entire career in various guiding and management roles, Heidi was looking for a new challenge and after a few months of planning and discussions Altitude Tours was born!

Mick – Guide

A self confessed ’wine geek’, Mick has been a part of the local wine industry here in Queenstown for over 15 years. Originally from across the Tasman, Mick’s background as a sommelier at Australia’s top restaurants was perfect grooming for his role as a wine guide. His extensive knowledge of the local region and it’s wine has earned Mick the reputation as the guide for the rich and famous, and former clients include some of the world’s hottest celebrities! Mick’s easy going nature and cheeky sense of humour provides a relaxed and friendly tour experience for all involved. He loves to chat and he’s great at tailoring the dialogue to benefit all comers, irrespective of wine knowledge.

Tania (Fluffy) – Guide

Tania is a born and bred kiwi who grew up in the mighty Naki (Hawera, North Island) and spent 8 years living abroad before settling in the beautiful Wakatipu region over 10 years ago. Tania has a huge passion for animals (some call her Fluffy- the crazy cat lady), wine, Lord of the Rings, and this beautiful region. Having been in various guiding roles over the past 10 years Tania will ensure you have an epic experience with Altitude Tours.

Andy – Guide

Andy is a born and bred kiwi whose greatest passion is the great outdoors and adventure sports. Andy has been tour guiding in and around Queenstown and NZ since the mid 80’s including 4WD, motorcycling, skiing, hiking, gold mining, nature tours and now adding wine tours to his repertoire. His extensive knowledge, fun personality and love of people makes Andy an amazing tour guide for the variety of tours Altitude Tours operate.

Graeme – Guide

Graeme our legendary driver and guide may be an Aussie but we’re happy to claim him as our own. Graeme has been ski instructing at Coronet Peak for over 27 years as well as guiding around the Wakatipu region, Queenstown, and the South Island. A genuine good bugger, his combination of a fantastic sense of humour, in-depth knowledge, and love for the region will ensure you have an amazing tour with Altitude.

Erik – Guide

As Kiwi as the come, Erik oozes enthusiasm and passion for Lord of the Rings, wine, beer, and the beautiful Wakatipu region. Originally from a farming background, his entrepreneurial streak shone through and he has dabbled in various business ventures before settling in Queenstown and starting the famous Erik’s fish and chips. His wife Anna now runs this freeing up Erik to share his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm about the region to Altitude Tours guests.

Alia – Guide

Alia has joined the Altitude team from Mornington Peninsula, Australia. Having grown up in a prominent wine growing region of Australia and with experience working at multiple wineries, she is excited to share her knowledge and love of wine with our guests. After travelling North America, working in the outdoors, tourism, and recreation, Alia had found herself here in Queenstown. It’s the perfect location where she is surrounded by her favourite things; lots of wine, mountains to snowboard on, and lakes to float on in the summer!

Padraic (Podge) – Guide

Originally from Ireland, Podge has been living in the region for over 6 years now, mainly working in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. With his laid back, fun, and friendly personality paired with his knowledge and love of the Queenstown region, Podge will make everyone feel welcome and entertained on any of our Altitude tours!

Megan – Guide

Megan is originally from the UK but has lived in New Zealand since 2016. She fell in love with the scenery of this great country and now calls it her home. Her bubbly and chatty personality is infectious and makes every tour personal and memorable. She has a passion for conservation and a good eye for spotting local wildlife as well as being a big history nerd. She knows a lot about the area and is a massive Lord of The Rings fan too!

Ben – Guide

Ben is originally from the UK but has called Queenstown home for the better part of a decade after falling in love with a gorgeous Waikato gal… His energetic zest for life and a love for the outdoors inspired him to create his own local business Paddle Queenstown! When he’s not out on the lake you’ll find him guiding one of our amazing tours with his extensive knowledge and an enthusiasm that can’t be matched!

Kim – Guide

What a star! Not only does she run her very own private company, but has made the time to step in and help out the Altitude team. A southern girl through and through, Kim has spent all of her life around this region and has spent the last 20+ years showing locals and international tourist alike an epic Queenstown experience. Lord of the Rings guru, wine lover and an encyclopedia of local knowledge.

Graham – Guide

Adding a little silver to the team, Graham joins the Altitude team from Milford Sound BBQ Bus. Born and bred in Central Otago, he is an ex-farmer who has holidayed in Queenstown for years and now resides here permanently. The master of spinning a yarn or two, he will be sure to make sure you have a memorable trip with Altitude tours!

Mark – Guide

Born and raised on a sheep and cattle station on the East Cape of the North Island, Mark has spent his time growing up hunting, fishing and wandering the hills. After finishing an engineering apprenticeship at age 21 he left New Zealand to travel overseas and see what the World had to offer. 7 years later he returned and settled in Queenstown, which he now calls home. He’s spent his life in Queenstown in the adventure tourism industry and showing people our epic scenery.Passionate about all things New Zealand and Queenstown, Mark is the ideal guide for Altitude.

Roland – Guide

15 years local, Roland knows Queenstown and it’s surrounding areas like the back of his hand! Having worked extensively in Fiordland and Milford Sound, as well as Stewart island, over the last two decades, his wealth of knowledge makes him the perfect guide. Priding himself on delivering comfortable, safe and informative tours, he joined Altitude believing small group tours offer the way forward – with personalised interaction, greater convenience, and more time to have fun, he’s certainly happy to be a part of this great little team!

Laura – Guide

A Wellingtonian by birth and having recently earned her ‘wings’ in Hawke’s Bay, Laura has returned to her true home in Queenstown. With a real passion for this special part of New Zealand and several years working in the local tourism industry, she thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with visitors. Laura prides herself on providing a safe, professional and memorable experience for everyone. As a pilot, she feels very privileged to enjoy the Southern Lakes and Fiordland regions from the air as well as the ground, enabling her to offer a unique perspective on her Milford Sound tours. 

Jaimee – Operations Manager

Jaimee is a born and bred Kiwi, originally from a little old town called Dannevirke in New Zealand’s North Island. Although hailing from a farming background, she found that conversation with people was more rewarding than with cows, so she made the bold decision to leave the farm and move down to the “big smoke” of Queenstown.
Having worked in various roles during her time in Queenstown, she has first-hand experience in all aspects of the tourism industry; from reservations at the local iSite to a more hands on role guiding with Nomad Safaris. Jaimee was eager to step up to the challenge of becoming operations manager for Altitude, and has proven herself the perfect person for the job! In her spare time she loves mountain biking, snowboarding, and getting out and about in this beautiful place we call home.

Jessie – Sales Manager

Jessie is leading the way in our sales team as the Sales Manager. Having studied in Queenstown at QRC, she has decided to stay in this beautiful town and work in the thriving tourism industry.  Having worked as a cellar door host in Gibbston Valley, she has great knowledge, a warm presence, and a bubbly personality that has made her the perfect fit to train sales agents and spread the word about Altitude products all around town and the wider NZ community. You may just catch Jessie at the cellar doors of Gibbston, tasting and teaching her friends a thing or two about wine, but you’ll want to stay clear if you see her on the slopes…

Andy B. – Reservations

Andy is Kiwi born and raised, and has spent the last two decades calling Queenstown home. As well as working as an office extraordinaire for Altitude, he is a registered marriage celebrant performing ceremonies in and around Queenstown, Wanaka, and the wider Otago region. When he’s not answering your calls and emails, or marrying couples, you’ll probably find him on stage performing in local theatre/musical productions, or out exploring the wilderness.

Jenni – Reservations

Originally from Scotland, Jenni found herself in Queenstown while traveling and had planned to stay for 3 months. It’s now almost 6 years later and she’s still here having fallen in love with the region. Having spent most of her time in Queenstown working in retail management she decided it was time for a change and joined the Altitude team last year. When she’s not working you’ll mostly likely find her riding her bike up Skyline. 

Meg – Admin & Operations Assistant

Originally from Lake Tahoe, California, Meg fell in love with New Zealand back in 2009 during her travels. In 2015 she returned to New Zealand and quickly made Queenstown her forever home. With a background in events and tourism, Meg found settling in Queenstown the perfect fit. Her love for sharing the outdoors and authentic experiences with people is what led her to the team at Altitude tours. When not in the office you can find her out on one of the amazing trails Queenstown has to offer.
