Carrick Wines

Carrick Wines were first planted on the Cairnmuir Terrace vineyard in 1994 by then owners Steve Green and Barbara Robertson. For 25 years Barbara and Steve dedicated everything to the property and produced outstanding organically grown wines. In 2011 Carrick received it’s full organic certification and is now working toward BioGreen certification in the vineyards.

Steve and Barbara have also handed the mantle over to Elizabeth Zhong of Kennedy Point Vineyard on Waiheke Island. This has coincided with some very interesting experimental wines being produced by winemaker Francis Hutt. Carrick Wines could have easily been described as “traditional’ Central Otago wines but now we are seeing more forward innovative styles being produced.

The Carrick Winery is accompanied by a large cellar door and restaurant that boasts a stunning glass front with views over the vineyards into the confluence of the Kawarau and Clutha Rivers.
